This building, which was once an inn named Izumiya where many travelers stayed in the Edo period (1603 - 1868), is registered as a national tangible cultural property. It was built during the Tenpo era (1830 - 1844), and survived the Ansei great earthquakes of 1854 - 1855. The comb-shaped handrail on the second floor remains as it was built. Today, you can tour the interior, and the building is used as a resting place by many travelers.
