A town that flourished around Tanaka Castle, a strategic point for east-west transportation

Fujieda-shuku was the 22nd post station on the Tokaido Road, and it prospered as the castle town of Tanaka Castle, which Tokugawa Ieyasu frequently visited for falconry. The streets were lined with stores catering to travelers and local residents, as well as stores serving warriors, including sword smiths. It is located at the connecting point of the Akaishi Mountains, the Shida Plain, and the Pacific Ocean, and since long ago, the area has flourished not only as a strategic point, but also as a marketplace for various goods, such as tea and shiitake mushrooms from the mountains, rice from the plains, and seafood from the ocean.

Yaji and Kita reach the Seto rest area beyond Fujieda-shuku. When they are resting and eating the specialty someii (rice balls dyed yellow with gardenia fruit), they once more encounter a man who had bumped into them and argued with them at the entrance to Fujieda-shuku.
They intend to have him treat him to a meal as an apology for their fight, but after stuffing their bellies, they hilariously end up stuck with the bill.
