An area with precious historical heritage from various time periods

Utsunoya Pass, located on the border between Shizuoka City and Fujieda City, is said to have been built in the Sengoku period (15th to 16th centuries) for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's attack on Odawara, and it has been selected as one of the hundred best historical roads. It was once a main road used by processions of feudal lords, as depicted in ukiyo-e, but it used to be a dark mountain pass stalked by bandits and brigands, so it became the setting of ghost stories and legends of man-eating demons. Today it is a strategic point of transportation for many people and goods, with six major roads and four tunnels built from ancient times to the present still existing, so you can experience how the pass has changed with the passage of time.
メイン
Yaji and Kita fearfully start their trek over Utsunoya Pass.
As they make their way across the treacherous "narrow path of ivy", the rain grows stronger. Just when they are about to reach a tea house that sells the local specialty todango (ten dumplings) made to pray for safe travels, they fall down the hill and hit their lower backs.
Fighting against the pain, they head for Okabe-shuku.
